Indicate 5 reduces water pH in spray tanks, making pesticide solutions more effective for longer, both before and after spraying.  Indicate 5 acidifies all alkaline waters and neutralizes, or “ties up,” the dissolved salt concentrations present in “hard” waters that make pesticides and fertilizers less effective.

Most pesticides work best in acidic conditions.  One example:  Cypermethrin degrades rapidly in alkaline water, with only 25% remaining after two hours in a pH 12 solution.  In contrast, 50% remains after two hours in a pH 5 solution. 

The correct volume of Indicate 5 to be added to the spray water is indicated by the color: pink at between 4.5 to 5.0.

Indicate 5 is simple for all staff to use:  The spray solution turns pink when the optimal pH has been reached.  And to prevent overdosing, Indicate 5 will not acidify beyond pH 3 – no matter how much Indicate 5 is added.

Guidance Application Rates, based on Total Dissolved Solids (TDS):

• Medium-hard water will require 50-60ml Indicate 5 per 100 litres of water
• Hard water (with TDS of 200-300) will require 60-150ml Indicate 5 per 100 litres of water
• Extremely hard water of TDS 400 and above may require rates of up to 250ml Indicate 5 per 100 litres of water
